Effective January 1, 2019, the First District Health Unit licenses and regulates those Child Care Centers that are mandated in ND Administrative Code Chapters 75-03-10-18 or 75-03-09-18 to have an inspection performed by the Health Department.
The kitchen and food operations are governed by the First District Health Unit Regulations for Food and Beverage Establishments. All other operations are governed by the First District Health Unit Rules and Requirements for Facilities.
In-home day care facilities are inspected by First District Health Unit at the request of social services.
