The mission of the North Dakota Parent Education Network is to provide research-based parent education to North Dakota Parents.

 

Parenting is hard work! But it can also be fun and rewarding. There are many things you can do to help build a safe, stable, and nurturing relationship with your child.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website will help you handle some common parenting challenges, so you can be a more confident parent and enjoy helping your child grow.

Parents Lead

Parents Lead is an evidence-based prevention program that provides parents and caregivers with a wide variety of tools and resources to support them in creating a safe environment for their children that promotes behavioral health.  Parents Lead is a collaboration between the ND Department of Human Services, ND Department of Transportation, and ND University System.

Operation Parent

Operation Parent is a parent-driven organization providing comprehensive resources and services designed to engage parent and child alike in proactive, productive communication on today’s toughest, teen and preteen issues such as technology (including cyberbullying), drug and alcohol use, relationships and mental health – ultimately resulting in better choices for tomorrow.

Nurturing Parenting Programs

The Nurturing Parenting Programs are a family-centered trauma-informed initiative designed to build nurturing parenting skills as an alternative to abusive and neglecting parenting and child-rearing practices. The long term goals are to prevent recidivism in families receiving social services, lower the rate of multi-parent teenage pregnancies, reduce the rate of juvenile delinquency and alcohol abuse, and stop the inter-generational cycle of child abuse by teaching positive parenting behaviors.

PBS Parents

PBS Parents is a trusted resource that’s filled with information on child development and early learning. It also serves as a parent’s window to the world of PBS KIDS, offering access to educational games and activities inspired by PBS KIDS programs.
