First District Health Unit’s SSP program (Minot Good Neighbor Project) offers services on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Services are now being offered at our South building. Clients should use the main entrance and check in with the receptionist. No appointment is needed for new or existing clients.
This strictly confidential program includes:
- Syringes/needles, supplies, disposal containers for syringes, safe sex kits and wound care kits
- Fentanyl and xylazine test strips
- Safer sex supplies including condoms and dental dams
- Naloxone to reverse opioid overdoses
- Education and training on drug overdose response, risk reduction and treatment, including the administration of overdose reversal medication
- Safe disposal of used syringes
- HIV and Hepatitis C testing
- Education on Safer injection, HIV, hepatitis C and STI prevention
- Peer Support
Staff help can program participants get connected to optional services including:
- Testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases including HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and others
- Referrals to medical care, substance use disorder treatment, mental health services, social services, housing, employment and more
- Referral to update immunizations including Hepatitis A & B
