Tobacco use is a chronic disease. It is the number one cause of death and disability in the United States, and here in North Dakota. First District Health Unit takes a comprehensive approach to reducing the impact of tobacco products and secondhand smoke, including resources and support for quitting, assistance in developing tobacco policies for schools, businesses and communities, updating medical providers and partnering with other community leaders.
