| Schools
In 2006, the Department of Public Instruction mandated that all schools have their kitchens inspected at least twice a year. The First District Health Unit Environmental Health Division was already performing this function. School kitchens are inspected twice a year to ensure that the food being served to our children is being handldd in a safe manner. Once a year, the entire facility is inspected for anything that could constitute a hazard to students.
